Are you aged 11-14 years and mad about all things wildlife? Join our Youth Explorers group to learn more about nature in MK!

This five-week immersive course is taught at one of Milton Keynes' most biodiverse and important parks - Howe Park Wood. On this course you will gain practical experience in studying and identifying wildlife and also learn some exciting skills in "bushcraft". Those signing up to the September course can expect activities such as tree identification and conservation management task, learning how to detect and identify bats, shelter building and making natural water filters. *.  *Please note that we reserve the right to change the content of the course based on weather, resources, group ability/interest and staff availability. 

This course takes place every Wednesday night from the 12th June to the 10th July, from 5-7pm. 

Please note this course is for 11-14 year olds only. The course will be taught outdoors where possible - so please be prepared to be outside for 2 hours, and wearing weather-appropriate clothing.  Students are to be dropped off at, and collected from Howe Park Wood Education Centre: https://www.theparkstrust.com/outdoor-learning/information-about-our-education-centres/howe-park-wood-education-and-visitor-centre/ 

Not only will you will have lots of amazing memories to take away, you will also receive a certificate upon completion and get to take home anything else you make on the course. After Youth Explorers you might wish to consider one of our Youth Ranger courses for 14-18 year olds.

    Howe Park Wood is one of Milton Keynes' ancient woodlands which boasts a wide variety of wildlife and fantastic on-site facilities, including toilets, a café, a small play area, and many opportunities to learn.
