Discover the fascinating and ever-changing geography of rivers as they continue to create their own paths in our landscapes.

Summary

The geography of rivers is a fascinating and ever-changing concept as they continue to create their own paths in our landscapes.

Take a trip down to one of our local parks where we will discover what it takes to change the course of a river, how to identify some of their main features, and conduct our own scientific experiments to measure flow rate. River Explorers is catered for Key Stage 2.

Please note that this session is location-specific based on the availability and access to river sites (i.e. in the Ouzel Valley and along the River Great Ouse). Should you not be able to visit a "river" site, we are able to adapt this session to other water bodies, but please bear in mind that some activities may not be possible. Any activities unable to run due to site suitability will be substituted for something equally relevant.
