Change Through Time
Watch as history unfolds before your eyes to reveal the inhabitants of Great Linford Manor Park.
Summary
Step back in time at this historic park. Discover the stories of people who have made Great Linford their home over the centuries, and learn how the park has evolved from its origins 170 million years ago.
You can book one of the below sessions, or both over a full day:
Option 1: 'Medieval & Renaissance Park'. Visit a medieval village setting, complete with the sights and smells of the period and meet a costumed volunteer who will teach children about life in medieval Great Linford. You will pay a visit to the Reverend. Dr. Richard Napier, to learn about medicine and astrology in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Option 2: 'Georgian Park & Beyond'. Enjoy a storytelling session at the Doric Seat in the park, told by a costumed volunteer. The children will then take part in a Georgian parlour game and learn about the impact the canal had on the park during the Industrial Revolution. You will also walk to the old Almshouses school building for an outdoor handwriting lesson with the "headmaster".
*Please note this session is ONLY available at Great Linford Manor Park and only from March - October.
