Gnomon

Gnomon (Shadow Caster) by Peter Bowker (1994)

Composed of Ffestiniog blue grey slate and bronze, Gnomon was commissioned by The Parks Trust specifically for its location in Campbell Park by the Cricket Pavilion.

A gnomon is the stationary arm that projects the shadow on a sundial and this sculpture has been designed to act as a shadow caster. A ley-line runs through the centre of Milton Keynes and the sculpture takes its reference from this ancient track.

Gnomon can be found by the Parks Trust offices at Campbell Park Pavilion What3Words location ///drizzly.likely.sleep
