Roman Villa Time Detectives
Let your class become history detectives and step back in time to the Roman Period at Bancroft Roman Villa.
Students will get to explore the site where the Bancroft Roman Villa was discovered, carrying out challenges to increase their understanding of the period, develop their inference skills and become more engaged with their local history. Students will find out about villa life and create a mini mosaic.
There is also the option to extend the trip and continue the adventure at Milton Keynes Museum to see and get hands-on with some real and replica Roman artefacts (including the famous mosaics found on site). Students will learn more about life at Bancroft Villa through daily objects such as toilet sponges and toiletries, learn the rules of a Roman board game, and write on wax tablets. Please note, this session is appropriate for Year 4-6.
Single session located at the Bancroft Roman Villa site and led by The Parks Trust's Outdoor Learning Team.
