About Glebe Farm Wetland

Conveniently accessible from Glebe Farm, this parkland is full of wildflower meadows, native woodland, open grass and ponds, which are part of a SUDs network which helps prevent flooding. The ponds also make an excellent habitat for wetland birds.

There are hard surfaced paths running throughout the park, and a nearby redway cycle route. There is no dedicated car park so please park considerately on residential streets.

We care for three play areas in the Glebe Farm area; Swamp Outpost, Sensory Island and Wildwood.

Swamp Outpost Play Area

This play area has a crocodile/swamp theme, with platforms and play houses on stilts, it's perfect for fostering imaginative play!

There are flat swings and crocodile themed sit on springers which allows for older children to play alongside younger children. The equipment is all made from timber, making it very tactile and sympathetic to the parkland setting.

There is no parking available for Swamp Outpost. If you are not local enough to visit on foot, we would recommend parking near the Sensory Island play area, walking or cycling up Keightley Gate and turning left to follow the redway which runs alongside the A421 until you reach the play area.

The play area includes an accessible roundabout for wheelchairs or buggies, tunnels, a large basket swing, a pirate ship with a slide and musical orbs that jingle or play music when interacted with.

This play area is ideally suited to children under 12, and there is plenty of opportunity for cross-generational play.
