What makes a weed? Come along on this guided introductory identification walk on Tuesday 22nd July to find out! We will delve into the world of wildflowers, learning more about what grows in our parks, and why some of these are classified as "weeds".
This leisurely guided walk will be led at one of beautiful, unique and lesser known parks, Bancroft Park, so there will be plenty of opportunity for you to enhance and practise your identification skills. We recommend this walk for beginners in plant ID.
The pace of this guided walk will be leisurely. There are some paved footpaths at Bancroft Park, some of these parks have a slight gradient. We will be encouraging visitors to walk in longer grass, on some uneven terrain, and on shorter cut grass. There are no benches on this route, and toilets are also not available. This walk is suitable for anyone age 12+ with an interest in plant identification. All under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult. Booking is essential.
