Elfield Nature Park is one of Milton Keynes' best kept secrets! Nestled into the industrial setting of the Milton Keynes Bowl, is a tiny slice of heaven for our local wildlife. Elfield Nature Park is home to an incredible array of wildlife and even some honeybee hives.
Join our team on Monday 18th August for a guided walk of this exclusive park which is otherwise closed to the public. Your guide will tell you all about the wildlife that can be found here, how we monitor and protect it, and other ways that you can get involved with this fascinating park.
Elfield Nature Park is a small park, so the walk will not cover a large distance, and will be led at a leisurely pace. The terrain is mostly uneven and gravelly. There are occasional newt barriers that we may have to step over. There are also areas of wooden boardwalk and steep "natural" steps (wooden bordered steps inserted into the muddy hill) with a handrail. There is one seating area up the top of this hill, toward the end of the walk. There are no benches or toilets available on this route. The nearest toilets and refreshments will be The Italian Sul Lago at Furzton Lake. A hearing loop is available on request. Please contact us on outdoorlearning@theparkstrust.com for any further accessibility information or support.
This walk is suitable for anyone age 12+ with an interest in wildlife and parks of Milton Keynes. All under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult. Booking is essential.
