Walk & Talk: Summer Tree ID at Bancroft
Join us for an evening stroll around Bancroft Park to identify different trees in the parkland.
Join us for a stroll around Bancroft Park, a special site for local history that's filled with an array of native tree species. You will learn how to identify the trees in our parkland by their leaf, bark, bud and blossom. You will also find out more about how and why we manage them, including tree removal and coppicing.
This walk & talk is suitable for anyone who wants to learn the basics of tree ID or just wants to find out more about the park. We will use main paths for a proportion of the walk, but will also venture into the grassland to visit specific trees so please wear suitable footwear.
Bancroft Park is mostly flat with a few small slopes. There are few benches on the route so you may wish to bring a portable stool with you if required.
There are no toilets available at this park. There is step-free access from the car park into the park.
We would love to make these sessions enjoyable for all, so please do get in touch if you have any accessibility requirements. A hearing loop is available on request.
