Did you know Great Linford Manor Park is home to a collection of exotic trees, known as an arboretum? Join our knowledgeable staff on this guided walk around the trees and hear stories about their origins and the folklore surrounding them. The walk will start at Great Linford Memorial Hall car park and staff will lead you around the arboretum, drawing your attention to different trees with exciting stories to be told.

The Great Linford arboretum was created in the 1990s by the Milton Keynes Development Corporation. Thirty years later, many of the trees are now reaching maturity and form a unique wooded area in the Manor Park. The arboretum is home to trees from across the world including species native to China, North America and Japan.

This walk and talk is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about interesting tree specimens from around the world. We will spend the majority of the walk away from footpaths and amongst the trees on grass so please wear suitable footwear.

Great Linford Manor Park is mostly flat but most of the walk will be on grass around the trees so the ground may be uneven. The walk will be leisurely with plenty of stops to look at trees. There are a few benches on the route however these are sporadic so you may wish to bring a portable stool with you if required.

Accessible parking is available, and there is step-free access from the car park into the park. There are no toilets available at this site although customer toilets can be found in nearby pubs and cafes.

We would love to make these sessions enjoyable for all, so please do get in touch if you have any accessibility requirements. A hearing loop is available on request. This walk is suitable for adults. To get close to the trees, we will be walking on grass and there will be no footpaths available. A hearing loop is available from events@theparkstrust.com.
