Free nature-themed activities in our Education Centre
Visit Howe Park Wood during the February half term to access to the Education Centre and take part in free nature activities. The centre is free to visit and is family-friendly for all ages, drop-in anytime between 9:30am-12:30pm on Tuesday 18th, Wednesday 19th, and Thursday 20th February.
This week's theme is 'Winter Wonder' so come along to learn more about how wildlife survives in the Winter months and take part in nature-based challenges.
We will also have artefacts on display (such as nests and skulls) that were found across our parks, as well as self-guided trails to help you explore the wood.
Howe Park Wood is one of the city’s jewels, a tranquil oasis, humming with wildlife and colour. As well as being home to a wide variety of wildlife, Howe Park Wood boasts more than 200 plant species, some so rare that English Nature has designated it a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its wildlife value.

There is free parking available on site, public toilets and Grounds Cafe for refreshments. Howe Park Wood Education Centre, opposite the Westcroft Centre, off of the H7 Chaffron Way.
Howe Park is an ancient woodland which boasts a rich variety of wildlife and great facilities for families. Pop by the cafe and grab yourself a coffee before a stroll in the woods.
We host many events at Howe Park Wood including guided walks, school holiday Open Mornings and engaging talks at our Education Centre.
