Come to our free, themed Open Mornings to find out more about your local parks and wildlife.

Visit Howe Park Wood during the Easter Holidays for our Open Mornings and gain access to the Education Centre. The centre is free to visit and is family-friendly. Drop-in anytime between 9:30am-12:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. 

8th-10th April
This week's theme is ‘Flowers, Bees and Butterflies’ so come along to take part in free activities to learn more about pollination. Have a go at our butterfly migration game, learn more about how bees see the world and explore the wildflower meadow to improve your flower ID skills. We may even have a local beekeeper attending to share artefacts and information about honey bees. 

15th-17th April
This week's theme is ‘Frogs, Toads and Newts’ so come along to take part in free activities to learn more about amphibians that live in Milton Keynes. Find out about their lifecycles, see if you can jump across the lily pads to safety and take part in other activities that will help you find out more about these amazing creatures. You may even see frog and toad spawn in the pond at this time of year!

 

Howe Park Wood is one of the city’s jewels, a tranquil oasis, humming with wildlife and colour. As well as being home to a wide variety of wildlife, Howe Park Wood boasts more than 200 plant species, some so rare that English Nature has designated it a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its wildlife value.
