Cycling Clubs
Milton Keynes has a wealth of opportunity for cycling whether you want to ride for leisure, sport or transit. There are also lots of groups and clubs that can assist you with your cycling goals whatever they might be!
They might be health benefits, a specific goal, learning new skills, improving a PB, making friends or all of the above.
Breeze is a women only programme from British Cycling that has been around since 2011. All rides are led by Breeze Champions, and are a great way to discover new places to ride, gain confidence in a group, make new friends - all whilst having a lot of fun.
The MK based group offer riders a variety of both Redway, road, and off-road all starting from various locations around the city. They welcome new riders to their group and never leave anyone behind! They are a friendly welcoming group.
CMK Social Ride is a weekly ride at 5:30pm on Thursday evenings from Station Square in CMK. The group ride to Campbell Park, and then return to Station Square. Their short rides are on a mix of shared path and road.
Throughout the year the group have special rides with recent examples being High Sheriffs ride for Peace and Unity, Easter, and Christmas. Often the ride will include a social gathering at Campbell Park, or a local bar.
Broughton Cycling Group aim to be a home to anyone who wants to get more out of their cycling, improve their health and wellbeing. Their goal is to be a gender balanced, diverse and inclusive cycling club, open to adult riders of all abilities.
They offer a variety of group rides each week, including female only rides, Redway rides, on road, and off-road. They also have social events, and charity events throughout the year.
Team Milton Keynes is a big club with a diverse membership, from honed and chiselled athletes to the Saturday social riders and café-stop connoisseurs. Their members range from infant to ancient, with everything in between! Some compete at the highest levels nationally, with others regularly pinning on numbers at local and regional events. They have a well-earned reputation for putting on some of the best events in the region, attracting competitors from far and wide.
Offering a huge variety to their members including - Mountain Biking, Cyclocross, Multisport & Triathlon, Time Trials and specific activities for female members, and young members (age 6-16).
The Milton Keynes Cycling Touring Club (park of Cycling UK) was established to promote travel by bicycle and to defend cyclists’ rights.
The aim of the group is to enjoy cycling through lovely countryside with like-minded people of varying ages. Almost every Sunday throughout the year they have a planned ride, led by an experienced leader. Rides are of varying distances and at different speeds. Their rides normally take them out along country lanes and they keep well away from heavy traffic.
The North Bucks Road Club was formed in 1952 and are still going strong many years later. They're keen to attract new members with an interest in taking part in club activities, whether those be social club rides, or competitive (time trials or road racing).
They are affiliated with Cycling Time Trials and British Cycling, and run a season-long series of 10 mile evening time trials. Circuit racing takes place at Milton Keynes Bowl. If you're an active cyclist interested in dipping your toe in the world of competitive cycling, they are the club for you.
One of the countries most established BMX clubs, MK BMX have been producing champions since 1984. They cater for riders from 3 to 70+ with a year round programme of coaching and racing activities. BMX is a great social sport and they provide a warm welcome to families and riders of all abilities.
